About SGH

David Sprecher and Ian Grier founded the firm in 1984. It has now grown to a nineteen partner commercial law practice with a wide range of clients including international household names, professional partnerships, listed companies, merchant banks, mortgage lenders and smaller family owned businesses. SGH has an established reputation for providing a fast and effective service to its clients. The partners, who are all specialists in their chosen field, enjoy the support of a loyal, energetic and experienced staff, many of whom have been with the firm for a considerable number of years. About the Equity Release Team

The team has practitioners who specialise in the field of equity release who provide advice to clients all over England and Wales. We are here to guide you through the legal implications of undertaking an equity release scheme. You will have a dedicated point of contact throughout your transaction and after completion we do not close the door as we are always happy to assist you with any future queries that you may have. When using us you will receive expert and clear advice on your transaction and can rest assured that matters are dealt with by experienced professionals. We advise on the risks and benefits of the product and will not advise you to proceed to completion until we are satisfied that you understand your legal obligations. We are completely independent of all the providers of equity release products in today's market place. We do not provide financial advice or comment as to whether or not a specific scheme is suited to your financial circumstance. If you ever have concerns in this regard we refer you back to your financial adviser. We work on a fixed fee basis and although we are a City based firm, our fees are comparable to provincial firms.

Meet the Team -

Derek is a Partner with the firm and as well as being the Head of the firm's Commercial Property Department he is also the partner in charge of the Equity Release Team. Maria is an experienced Conveyancer who brings her experience of the provision of legal services to the vulnerable to this role. Maria assists Ross in the day to day running of the team.

Ross has a growing client base and has developed expertise in equity release schemes having worked in this field for over 5 years. Ross has been consulted by Plan Providers for his views on affording their consumers further protection. Ross also provides advice to financial advisers, and intermediaries and has written articles on the subject of equity release which have been published in the legal press. Ross is assisted in his work by a team of dedicated fee earners.
