I am fortunate to have lived in Cheshire all my working life and, as this is near to Manchester Airport, road and rail connections are excellent, so I have, in the early years commuted easily to offices in Cheshire and Greater Manchester. I am married to Anne with two grown up children, both of whom are in the Accountancy profession and who work for a major PLC in the Manchester area.
I run an IFA practice with three former colleagues from a long established financial planning practice in Sandbach where we have our offices, which are close to the M6. We are fortunate to share the same ethical and trustworthy approach to Financial Planning so we are able to provide complementary specialist skills as well as cover for each other whilst out of the office.
I have been involved in the mortgage business since 1979 when, following 6 years in banking, I became a Building Society manager - a position I held for almost 9 years before joining a mortgage brokerage and then soon after becoming anindependent financial consultant and equity release adviser in the early nineties.
Since then I have tended to specialise in Investment matters, IHT planning and naturally, mortgages which includes the full range of Equity Release schemes that are now known as Lifetime Mortgages. During that time I have enjoyed advising clients on investment matters which includes - increasing capital, generating income from investments, keeping 'tax leakage' to a minimum and passing on family wealth whilst mitigating Inheritance Tax. My knowledge of mortgages is extensive and respected, as my overall belief is that clients both want and need, to understand the implications of their financial planning, and I have a duty to use my knowledge and experience so that the principles may be easily understood.
